The Trustee Board:

As an independent charity, Citizens Advice Medway is overseen by a Trustee Board. Currently made up of 4 volunteer members, the Trustee Board sets the strategy and direction for the service and oversees our management and finance.

Trustees are responsible for ensuring that we comply with all our legal responsibilities, that we meet standards set by Citizens Advice nationally, and that our financial affairs are conducted in a proper manner.

Our Trustees are:

  • David Ainsley - Chair of Trustees & Chair of HR Sub-Committee
  • Peter Murray - Chair of Finance & Chair of Resources Sub-Committee
  • Richard Iddenden - Trustee Board Member
  • Cath Foad - Trustee Board Member

Our Trustees have a range of backgrounds with experience in business, accountancy, customer service and research, public sector management, project management and sales. Many of them are active in other voluntary organisations, and all share a deep commitment to providing an effective and efficient advice service for the people of Medway.

Volunteer Trustees:

We welcome expressions of interest from new volunteers interested in becoming Trustees. Your personal skills are as important as your background. We need people who can provide:

  • Commitment and availability
  • Effective communication skills
  • Willingness to gain knowledge of local needs and resources
  • Commitment to the aims, principles and policies of the Citizens Advice service
  • Willingness and ability to act in the best interests of the centre
  • Ability to understand and accept their responsibilities and liabilities as Trustees and employers
  • Ability to think creatively and strategically, and exercise good, independent judgment
  • Ability to work effectively as a member of a team

If you would like to volunteer as a Trustee for Citizens Advice Medway, please contact Carmen Watts on 01634 383760, or by email at carmen@cabmedwayadvice.org.uk.
